From the artist:
The piece is from my Two Lights series, which present natural and UV perspectives of each work. Additionally, the full title is The Four Elements XLVII (2001) in homage to the famous scene near the end of Kubrick's film where Dave Bowman transverses the Star Bridge and becomes the Star Child. To fully understand the universe requires parallax, and that is the sense on gets in looking at the piece.
