“Existence and Uniqueness” is the first solo show by Christopher Hanusa for Gallery 1064, opening on March 4th 2022.
Professor Hanusa is a mathematician at City University of New York. His academic work blends aspect of mathematics and art.
In this body of work, the artist focuses on the tension between randomness and deliberation. The art is crafted using mathematical functions injected with random elements, generating unique pieces of art at each iteration of the mathematical code written for that specific concept. The artist selects and curates these random works to capture the aesthetic and the essence that inspired a specific art.
Read our interview with the artist, and check the Existence and Uniqueness exhibition for the artwork.
Subscribers to our newsletter will benefit from an exclusive preview of the solo show on March 2nd.
